Happy Thanksgiving!
Reported By: Mrs. Partyka
I am so thankful I will see my favorite second graders soon! It was a wonderful break. I picked up my son at college and was so happy to have everyone together for the holiday. We celebrated at my mom's where we had an amazing feast and lots of laughs. My brother always cooks the turkey at his house, loads it into the car and gets it to grandma's table. Every year we worry there could be a turkey accident. I don't shop the early Friday madness. Instead, I enjoyed holiday decorating, took a photography class and updated our blog. Sadly, the leaves are gone outside and the winter feel is here. I needed to change the theme of our blog but I just couldn't go with a snow theme! Please check in often to see all the learning adventures in room 10!

Spiderella!
Reported By: Holly and Abby
Hi! On Friday we did a play called Spiderella. It was like Cinderella but with bugs. Holly was the Fairy Godmoth and Abby was First Ladybug. Alex, Brianna and Samantha were in the play too. The First Ladybug said to the Cicada Prince to give her a cicada kiss. Everybody laughed.

On October 12, 2010 my class and I went to the Scholastic Book Fair. It was so much fun! There were so many books! There were even cool school supplies.
There was a test to see how many M and M's were in a jar. A boy in our class named Luke won the jar! He was only 13 off! No one else guessed it. He got to bring the jar home. We all had a lot of fun!

Walk For Diabetes!
Reported By: Becca
I went on a juvenile diabetes walk to raise money. Juvenile means it's for kids. I went because I am between kid's diabetes and grown up diabetes. I walked 4 miles and raised $500! I don't eat junk food because I can't have lots of sugar or carbohydrates. I eat lots of good foods to stay healthy.

Learning About Insects
Reported By: Luke
We went outside and found many insects! To be an insect you need to have 6 legs, 3 body parts, 2 antennae and wings. We also found slugs, worms and spiders but we knew they are not insects. Most people don't like insects but I really do!

About
I am a second grade teacher at Wayne Elementary in Wayne, Illinois. Second grade is a wonderful year! I love how the students continue to grow as readers and are so excited about science and social studies! I enjoy scrapbooking and any kind of exercise. I recently discovered boxing but love riding my bike best. This is my third year blogging and am so proud my students are the main authors!
