Book Fair

Twice a year our school has a Scholastic Book Fair. The students are eager to see new titles in their favorite series and brand new characters. This year we fell in love with a dog named Ranger who travels back in time. We are grateful to our volunteers who bring the book fair to our school.

Who Will Be Our Class President?

We ran for class president. We had to write speeches to tell about our traits that would make us a great president. We created colorful campaign posters. It was a lot of fun! Our friend Vinny won and was president of the day!

Science

We are learning the scientific method in class. The students are also learning how scientist think and create lab reports to share their findings. The students are learning about balance and motion. They are making hypothesis on how to create designs that create rotational motion this week and recording their findings.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from room 3! We started our first day back in the new year by creating goals for 2016! We created a booklet with our goals and celebrated the new year in our classroom.

Winter Break

I missed my favorite second graders during winter break but I really enjoyed our trip to Lake Havasu, Arizona. El Nino kept the temperatures a bit cooler but every day was sunny and 60! My favorite part was hiking in the mountains. I also tried my first Zumba class but wasn't as coordinated as the others... but it was a fun challenge. My husband and I did a bit of school work too. I made him shop with me for a variety of toy cars for our upcoming science experiments. My suitcase was a bit heavier (only 2 pounds under the weight limit).
