Everyday the students are authors at work who love to write! They write about everything from exciting news in their lives to reports about their learning. They even edit their writing to add some BlInG! How fun it is to grab our red pens and look for places to add words with sound, description and feelings. Once our writing comes to life, our authors are ready to read our publications.
The students have learned a lot about insects. They created a habitat for a mealworm and have been observing its life cycle, structures and behaviors. We enjoyed time outside to research insects in their natural habitat and make connections of the various insects we encountered.
Do you read like a detective?
Do you search for clues to best understand what the text is about?
Do you reread to be sure you didn't miss anything?
Do you look at new words very closely?
Do you take notes of important things to remember?
It takes a lot of practice to be the best reading detective!
